Antonio Conte believes Napoli have regained momentum in Serie A title race

Conte believes that his team has regained momentum in the title race, and their chances of lifting the Scudetto are still alive

Napoli’s 2-1 home win over AC Milan on Sunday has given Antonio Conte’s side a much-needed boost in the Serie A title race.

The victory moved Napoli within three points of league leaders Inter, who had earlier beaten Udinese 2-1.

Conte believes that his team has regained momentum in the title race, and their chances of lifting the Scudetto are still alive.

Napoli dominated the first half, taking a 2-0 lead through goals from Matteo Politano and Romelu Lukaku.

Although Luka Jovic pulled one back for Milan in the 84th minute, Napoli held on to secure the win.

Antonio Conte praised his team’s performance, saying that the result allows them to stay in Inter’s slipstream and distance themselves from fifth place.

Despite being given only a 16% chance of winning the Scudetto by the Opta supercomputer, Conte remains optimistic about his team’s chances.

“It’s an important result that allows us to stay in Inter’s slipstream and distance ourselves from fifth place,” Conte told DAZN.

He believes that Napoli’s initial goal was to qualify for Europe, but now that they are in contention for the title, it would be crazy not to believe in something extraordinary.

“The Champions League places weren’t even our initial goal. We started out trying to get into Europe, but now we are there, and after eight months of work, it would be crazy not to believe in something extraordinary”; Conte said.

The win over Milan was Napoli’s first in eight league matches, and Conte believes that it injects a new sense of optimism into their title pursuit.

However, he insisted that his team must take the rest of the season one step at a time. With eight games left, Conte wants his team to be fierce and focused on achieving their goals.

Conte also revealed that Napoli had to overcome some challenges before the match, with Scott McTominay missing out due to flu symptoms and Leonardo Spinazzola sidelined with an injury.

Despite these setbacks, Napoli were able to secure a crucial win, and Conte will be hoping that his team can build on this momentum in the coming weeks.
