Arne Slot reveals Jurgen Klopp’s message after Liverpool clinch Premier League title

Slot now joins an exclusive list of managers who have won the Premier League in their first season

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has revealed that Jurgen Klopp was one of the first to congratulate him after the Reds secured their 20th Premier League title.

The Reds confirmed their Premier League triumph last week with a dominant victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool have been in control of the title race all season, fending off early pressure from Chelsea and sustained challenges from Arsenal.

They sealed the title with four games to spare, marking another historic achievement for the club.

Slot now joins an exclusive list of managers who have won the Premier League in their first season, with only Sir Alex Ferguson, José Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Manuel Pellegrini, Claudio Ranieri, and Antonio Conte having previously achieved the same feat.

The Dutchman has since revealed that Klopp was among the first and most high-profile figures to congratulate him on the achievement, cementing the special relationship between the two managers.

I assume that’s Jürgen [Klopp]. What did he have to say? What most of them said,” Slot said.

“So that was congratulations and now you know how special of a club it is, now you are part of the history as well – these kind of things.

“He was really happy for me, for the players, for the staff, for the fans, like we all know Jürgen [would be]. Maybe I forget a few but I think he was the most famous one.”

Conor Bradley is on track to make his return to the Liverpool squad for their upcoming Premier League clash against Chelsea this weekend.

The Northern Ireland international was absent from the squad during last week’s win over Tottenham at Anfield.

Bradley had been sidelined with a minor injury but is now poised to resume full training with the squad today, which increases his chances of being fit for the match at Stamford Bridge.

“He will train with us today, so that’s the first start and let’s see how he does,” said head coach Arne Slot at his pre-match press conference on Friday morning.

“We expect him to be available. I don’t know if that means that he is available to start, but if all goes well today and tomorrow he will probably be in the squad, yeah.”
