Gyokeres has now emerged as Arsenal’s primary striker target
Arsenal open talks to sign Sporting star Viktor Gyokeres

Arsenal have initiated talks to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres in an early summer move, according to Football Insider.
The Gunners’ new sporting director, Andrea Berta, is a strong admirer of the 26-year-old Sweden international and is now spearheading efforts to secure his signature.
Negotiations are underway behind the scenes as Arsenal look to convince Gyokeres and put together a deal that satisfies all parties.

In a surprising turn, Gyokeres has now emerged as Arsenal’s primary striker target, overtaking previously linked names like Benjamin Sesko and Victor Osimhen.
Following their near-miss in the Premier League title race this season, Arsenal are prioritising the signing of a top-tier number nine in the upcoming summer window.

The Gunners’ forward line has been weakened by season-ending injuries to Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus earlier this year.
This has left Leandro Trossard and Mikel Merino to step in and lead the attack for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Gyokeres, under contract with Sporting until June 2028, has enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 47 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions.
The striker has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, especially with former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim now in charge at Old Trafford.

Gyokeres, who has 26 caps for Sweden, has previous experience in English football, having played for Brighton and Coventry.
In other transfer news, Arsenal are reportedly ahead of Tottenham in the race to sign Kingsley Coman this summer.
The France international is entering the final two years of his contract with Bayern Munich and could be allowed to leave the Bundesliga giants this summer, having fallen out of favor under manager Vincent Kompany.
