A review of match week 25 of the Ghana Premier League

Asante Kotoko have reclaimed the top spot in the Ghana Premier League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Basake Holy Stars on Sunday.

Samuel Tenadu’s 14th-minute strike proved to be the difference at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, ensuring the Porcupine Warriors leapfrogged Bibiani Gold Stars at the summit of the table.

Kotoko’s return to the top was aided by other results going in their favor, particularly Gold Stars’ failure to secure a win at home.

Bibiani Gold Stars dropped to second place after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak.

The hosts had taken the lead through Gideon Anaba’s 79th-minute penalty, but Hearts’ Stephen Appiah struck in the 92nd minute to salvage a point.

Despite the draw, Hearts remain in fourth place, ending a two-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC continued their resurgence with a crucial 1-0 victory over Young Apostles FC.

Abdul Razak Salifu netted the decisive goal nine minutes from time, securing back-to-back wins for the Believers and pulling them further away from the relegation zone.

Karim Zito’s side now sit comfortably in mid-table after a challenging start to the season.
