Asante Kotoko make partial payment to former coach Prosper Ogum

Asante Kotoko have made a partial payment of $20,000 to former head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum, as reported by Kessben FC.
However, the club still faces an outstanding financial obligation of $16,000, which is part of Ogum’s severance package.

According to Kessben FC, the $20,000 payment is part of various entitlements owed to Coach Ogum from his most recent stint with the club, covering unpaid bonuses and portions of salary arrears.
Despite this development, Kotoko have yet to honor the contractual obligation of $16,000 for Ogum’s severance package, which is believed to cover compensation due following the termination of his contract and related settlement terms.
Ogum’s tenure with Kotoko was marked by both success and controversy.
He led the team to the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season but had a tumultuous return in the 2023/24 campaign, which ended in his departure due to internal disagreements and inconsistent results.
With the severance package still pending, all eyes are on the Porcupine Warriors to complete the process and avoid potential legal repercussions or further strain on their reputation.
Meanwhile, the club has moved on, with Coach Karim Zito taking over as the new head coach.
Zito will make his debut on Sunday as Kotoko takes on Aduana Stars, and fans are eager to see how he will lead the team.
Currently, Asante Kotoko sit fourth on the league standings with 47 points, with five crucial matches remaining in the season.
Despite trailing leaders Bibiani Goldstars by six points, Asante Kotoko are not giving up on their title chase.
The Porcupine Warriors will need to win all their remaining games and hope that Goldstars drop points in order to mount a serious challenge for the title.
