Romano posted on X: “Matteo Ruggeri to Atlético Madrid, here we go!
“Agreement in place with Atalanta for €20m package. Medical tests already booked for the left back.”
Robertson’s future still remains uncertain following a disappointing 2024/25 season, providing just two assists in 45 appearances for the Reds, who won the Premier League title.

The 31-year-old has just one year left on his remaining contract after joining the club from Hull City in 2017, and admitted that he is considering his future plans.
“We have discussed it, of course we have,” he said. “We’ve had good discussions with me and the club but what the future holds I am not sure.
“You know all I know is tomorrow I fly off on holiday and it is well needed.
“I need a rest after a long season and then I look forward to pre-season, that’s all my focus is. I can’t look too far ahead. I never have done that so I am not going to start doing that now.
“I know the position I am in and I have only got a year left and a lot is getting spoken about and getting said but my full focus is on being a dad for the next couple of weeks and enjoying that time with the kids.”
Liverpool have completed the signing of Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez as Arne Slot looks to bolster his squad for next season.
