Barcelona consider Yamal as a key part of their long-term project
Barcelona set to offer lucrative new contract to Lamine Yamal

Barcelona are reportedly preparing a lucrative new contract for Lamine Yamal, which would position him among the highest-paid players at the club.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan giants consider the 17-year-old as a key part of their long-term project and are eager to secure his commitment through the 2029–30 season.
As Barcelona prepare for next season, securing Yamal’s future has become a top priority.

Club officials, including sporting director Deco, are united in their goal to finalise a deal that reflects the player’s rapid development and crucial contributions.
Despite current restrictions imposed by La Liga’s financial fair play rules, the La Liga leader remain optimistic that these barriers will be lifted by May, allowing them to operate more freely in both the transfer market and contract negotiations.

While Yamal has consistently expressed his desire to stay at Barça, he has communicated through his representative, Jorge Mendes, that he expects a new agreement reflecting his current role within the team.

The Spain international believes his performances warrant inclusion in the club’s top wage bracket, a sentiment shared by the Barcelona hierarchy, who are poised to offer him a salary package on par with key talents like Pedri, Gavi, and Raphinha.
Although Barcelona’s signals have been encouraging, Mendes and his team remain cautious.
The agent has previously dealt with tricky situations involving players like Joao Felix and João Cancelo, both of whom joined Barcelona under special contractual terms only to see promised future wage improvements fail to materialise.
Barcelona have earmarked mid-July coinciding with Yamal’s 18th birthday, as the target date to officially sign the new contract.
While earlier discussions with Mendes have been verbal and non-binding, both sides are confident that a formal agreement will be reached soon.
