Benab FC win Zone 7 to secure fifth consecutive Middle League slot

Benab FC’s remarkable journey in Zone 7 of the Ashanti Regional Division Two League came to a triumphant end on Saturday, as they defeated Medimafo 2-1 in the final game of the season.

The match, played at the WESCO Park, saw Benab FC finish another season unbeaten, securing yet another Middle League spot.

The ‘Everything By God’ side ended the campaign with an impressive 16 wins and two draws, accumulating 50 points from 18 games.

This remarkable feat marked their fifth consecutive Middle League spot, a testament to the team’s consistency and determination.

Medimafo, who had already lost twice to Benab this season, were determined to spoil what was a coronation day for the champions.

However, Benab FC’s momentum was unstoppable, and they took the lead just after the half-hour mark through Mugis.

Medimafo fought back, drawing level just before the break with a well-crafted header in the penalty box. The first half ended with both teams level, setting the stage for a tense second half.

After the recess, Benab FC came out all guns blazing, determined to secure the win. The breakthrough came late in the game, when Medimafo’s goalkeeper failed to deal with Danger’s shot, and Maxwell finished home the rebound.
