Saka has been sidelined since December due to a hamstring injury

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka is set to make his long-awaited return from injury, Mikel Arteta has confirmed.

The Gunners welcome London rivals Fulham to the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday as they look to build momentum following the international break.

While the Premier League title may be out of reach, Arsenal remain determined to finish the season strongly, with Champions League qualification still on the line.

Saka has been sidelined since December due to a hamstring injury. However, after successfully completing his recovery program without any setbacks, he is now set to make his comeback against Fulham.

“All of the careful things he’s already done. It’s about putting him on the grass in the right moment,” Arteta said.

“He’s pushing. He really wants it. We have respected the timeline. We had to even hold him back. He’s ready to go.”

“Bukayo is a massive weapon that we have.

“We know the impact he has in the team and how important his role and contribution is to our success. It’s great to have him back again.”

Mikel Arteta also provided an update on Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber, both of whom missed international duty during the break

Riccardo was forced off late in the match against Germany and missed Italy’s subsequent fixture due to a knee problem, while Jurrien had to watch the Netherlands’ games from the sidelines because of illness.

“He picked up an injury again with the national team,” Mikel added.

“It’s really unfortunate the way it happened. It could have been much worse so hopefully it’s going to be a matter of weeks, but we’ll have to see how that injury evolves.

“Jurien was ill for a long period, quite badly. He’s felt much better in the last few days, so he’s available.”
