Cambodian side Visakha FC snap up Ghanaian Forward Nana Kwame Oppong

Cambodian Premier League side Visakha FC have strengthened their attack with the signing of Ghanaian forward Nana Kwame Oppong.
The 23-year-old has joined the Phnom Penh-based club after an impressive season with Heart of Lions in the Ghana Premier League, where he scored 11 goals in 28 appearances during the 2024/25 season..
Oppong was an exceptional player for the Kpando-based team, known for his precise finishing, strong work ethic, and consistent performance. His impressive form attracted interest from several clubs, including Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
Ultimately, it was Visakha that secured his signature. The striker joined Heart of Lions on loan from Tamale Liberty during the 2023/24 season, scoring twice in 15 appearances.
His impact convinced Lions to make the move permanent ahead of the 2024/25 season — a decision that paid off.
Visakha FC, who finished third in the Cambodian Premier League last season, are aiming to push for their first-ever league title in the upcoming 2025/26 campaign. The club views Oppong as a key addition to their title ambitions.
The Cambodian topflight kicks off on August 9, and Oppong is expected to play a central role in Visakha’s quest for glory. His arrival is seen as a significant coup for the club, which continues to attract promising African talent to bolster its squad.
Meanwhile, Heart of Lions have targeted former Asante Kotoko attacker Sampson Eduku as a replacement, as Bashir Hayford looks to build a new attacking force.
Eduku is now a free agent after being released buy Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the end of the 2025/26 season.
