Carlo Ancelotti “very close” to becoming Brazil’s next manager

Ancelotti has long been linked with the Brazil job

Reports suggest that Carlo Ancelotti is on the brink of becoming the next manager of Brazil.

The Italian’s tenure at Real Madrid is expected to conclude soon, with a departure potentially occurring as early as next week.

Ancelotti, the most successful manager in Champions League history, has long been linked with the Brazil job.

According to Sky Sports, the stars appear to be aligning for him to take charge of the South American side.

Real Madrid, facing the prospect of a trophyless season, could see Ancelotti depart as a result.

Carlo Ancelotti has yet to step into international management but would arrive with a wealth of experience and a distinguished pedigree.

Should he take the job, he would have the opportunity to coach top talents like Vinícius Júnior and Rodrygo, who have been key figures in his attacking setup at Real Madrid.

Brazil, the most successful nation in World Cup history, has not lifted the trophy since their 2002 triumph.

In fact, they haven’t reached a final since then, and they’ve won the Copa América just once since 2007.

The Brazilian Football Federation is reportedly “confident” in securing the iconic manager and is hoping to reach an agreement with Ancelotti in the coming days.

At 65, he is the preferred candidate for Brazil’s leadership, though the federation has not entirely ruled out Jorge Jesus.

The former Flamengo manager, currently under contract with Al Hilal until after the FIFA Club World Cup, could potentially negotiate an early exit from his Saudi Arabian club next month.

Ancelotti’s weekend was marked by another setback, as Real Madrid were defeated 3-2 in extra time by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.
