Carlo Ancelotti’s move to Brazil on brink of collapse

Carlo Ancelotti’s proposed appointment as the new Brazil national team manager is reportedly close to falling through.
The 65-year-old had verbally agreed to take over the Seleção this summer, with discussions scheduled to finalise his departure from Real Madrid.
However, tensions have arisen between the parties, with Madrid reportedly unhappy about the visibility and handling of the negotiations.

The Spanish club insist they want Carlo Ancelotti to remain in charge for the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is eager to move forward and reluctant to delay the appointment any further.
Brazil have been without a permanent head coach since Dorival Júnior was dismissed following a humiliating defeat to Argentina.
Complicating matters further, it’s claimed that Madrid are unwilling to pay any compensation to release Ancelotti from his contract.
Al Hilal boss Jorge Jesus has emerged as a potential alternative for Brazil if talks with Ancelotti break down completely.

Further discussions are scheduled for Wednesday in a bid to salvage the situation, but reports in Brazil suggest that negotiations may have already been abandoned.
Ancelotti is still expected to leave Real Madrid this summer, with reports claiming he would consider a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. A deal worth around £42million per year is believed to be on the table.
It’s been a disappointing season for Madrid, accelerating the Italian’s potential exit. Los Blancos suffered an early Champions League exit to Arsenal and were defeated by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final.

Ancelotti is currently in his second stint with Real Madrid, having returned to the club in 2021. Over the course of his two spells, he has won 15 major trophies, including three Champions League titles.
However, Madrid are set to end the campaign with only the UEFA Super Cup added to their trophy cabinet.
