Joao Felix is reportedly on the shortlist of players to leave Chelsea this summer
Chelsea flop Joao Felix receives interest from former club Benfica

Chelsea forward Joao Felix has recently received loads of interest from several top European clubs, even after a poor campaign on loan at AC Milan in the 2024/24 season.
As Chelsea prepares for a busy transfer window, the club intends to offload several fringe players from their books, with the Portuguese forward’s name part of the shortlist.
Despite another disappointing display with the Serie A side, which prompted criticism from the media, his former club, Benfica, are showing interest in the 25-year-old star.

The West London side is expected to find potential suitors hard to come by, after Felix’s continuous inconsistencies since he arrived in the Premier League from the Spanish La Liga.
The former Atletico Madrid man was signed for a fee in the region of £45m, in a move that saw England midfielder Conor Gallagher going the other way for about £33m in the summer of 2024.
However, Portuguese outlet Record has revealed that Felix’s former side, Benfica, are in advanced talks to bring the attacker back to the club – Felix previously left the Liga Portugal side back in 2019.

The report adds that a move back to the club has never been closer than it is now, as Chelsea look for a final closure to what could end up being a long-term nightmare.
Despite his struggles in Spain, England, and Italy, the exciting forward flourished in the Portuguese League with Benfica.

He spent just one season for the first team before his big-money move to the Spanish capital, however, this campaign saw him provide the best numbers of his career so far.
Felix scored 20 goals in all competitions whilst providing seven assists in the process. It is viewed that a move to a familiar environment could be exactly what he needs to reinstate his career.
Given his record at Benfica and the comfort of playing at home, a return to his home country may well be the best thing for Felix.
