“Cold Palmer” was expected to return to action in October after the international break
Chelsea star Cole Palmer out for six more weeks with injury

Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer has been confirmed to be out for six more weeks due to a groin injury sustained in September.
Palmer was expected to return from his injury that sidelined him for a few important matches for both club and country, including Chelsea’s dramatic late winner against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge last month.
However, manager Enzo Maresca has now confirmed, the playmaker will be sidelined for a further “six more weeks”, potentially ruling him out of Chelsea’s action for the entire October and November.

The 23-year-old aggravated a groin injury during Chelsea’s loss at Manchester United in September, but was expected to return to action in October after the international break.
However, “Cold Palmer”, who has featured in only four games for the Blues this season, is set for a longer spell on the sidelines than anticipated.
Palmer will miss ten fixtures for Chelsea, including crucial games against London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal, as well as a Champions League encounter with Spanish giants Barcelona at the Bridge.

Speaking to the media ahead of their early kick-off away game against Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, Maresca called the situation “unfortunate.”
“I was wrong. Unfortunately, he has to be out probably six more weeks. This is the update.
“We are trying just to protect Cole as much as we can and the most important thing is that when he comes back, he is fully fit.”
Palmer first picked up the problem during the warm-up for their Premier League encounter with West Ham United in August.
Maresca was, however, adamant that the medical staff would do all that it takes to have the issue resolved once and for all. He added: “Yes, but the medical staff are not magicians. You never know that.
“You probably need six weeks. We hope that six weeks is enough, but it’s a problem we need to see step-by-step, week after week. But, for sure, he is going to be OK.
“He looks very good. He looks relaxed. He is trying to recover from the injury. He is doing all the therapy he needs to do. He looks good.”
With upcoming league matches against Forest, Sunderland, Tottenham, and Wolves before the next international break, Chelsea will hope that Palmer’s absence won’t significantly hinder their push to climb the table.
