Dembele set to miss second leg UCL clash against Arsenal, says Luis Enrique

Dembele, who scored the winning goal in the fourth minute, was forced off in the 70th minute, prompting worries about his availability for the second leg

Paris Saint-Germain‘s thrilling 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final first leg has been tempered by concerns over match-winner Ousmane Dembele‘s hamstring injury.

Dembele, who scored the winning goal in the fourth minute, was forced off in the 70th minute, prompting worries about his availability for the second leg.

According to PSG coach Luis Enrique, Dembele is “a doubt for the second leg” and will undergo tests to determine the extent of the injury.

While Enrique remains optimistic about Dembele’s participation, he acknowledges that PSG’s star player might not be fit for the return leg at the Parc des Princes.

“We’re going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch. But we’re a real team. If Ousmane can play, that’s better. But if he doesn’t, we’ll still be a real team”; Enrique said.

Dembele’s impressive form this season, with 33 goals in Europe’s big five leagues, makes his potential absence a significant blow to PSG’s title aspirations.

Despite Dembele’s injury concerns, Enrique exudes confidence in PSG’s ability to overcome Arsenal in the second leg.

PSG’s squad depth will be put to the test if Dembele misses the second leg, but Enrique believes his team can adapt and still achieve their goal of reaching the final.

Arsenal’s hopes of staging an upset were dashed despite a spirited performance at the Emirates Stadium.

Gianluigi Donnarumma made crucial saves to deny Arsenal, while PSG missed opportunities to extend their lead.

The narrow 1-0 margin sets the stage for a thrilling second leg in Paris, where PSG will aim to control the match and secure their spot in the final.

Luis Enrique remains confident that PSG will find a way to progress to the final, even without Dembele.

With their squad depth and experience, PSG will look to leverage their home advantage and secure a spot in the Champions League final.
