Port City, who were aiming to make it two wins out of two, made two changes to the side that picked a slim 2-1 triumph over Nania FC on Match Day 1.
Golden Kicks started well and created a few incursions in the early stages of the game.
Their efforts paid off when they broke the deadlock in the 12th through Lord Yeboah, the midfielder scored from close range following a poor clearance.
In the 34th minute, Port City came close to drawing level with a decent chance, but it was flagged offside, and Port City went into the break with a goal down.
Back from recess, coach Charles Boateng brought on Ortiz and Frank for Zakaria Mumuni and Issah to add more but to the attack.
The substitutions kept Golden Kicks on their toes as Port City kept pressing for the equalizer, but the backline of Golden Kicks remained resolute as they held on to their lone goal to keep their first clean sheet.
Port City will welcome debutants Golden Warriors on Match Day 3, while Golden Kicks will play as visitors to Attram De Visser.
