Enzo Maresca confirms Cole Palmer available for selection against Tottenham

Palmer had been dealing with a muscular issue and withdrew from the England squad

Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Chelsea trio Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, and Noni Madueke are all fit and available for the upcoming match against Tottenham.

Palmer had been dealing with a muscular issue and withdrew from the England squad after missing the defeat to Arsenal before the international break.

Jackson has been sidelined since early February due to a hamstring injury, while Madueke has also been out since February with a similar hamstring issue.

Cole Palmer has faced challenges in recent months, going without a goal in his last 10 appearances

Cole Palmer’s return at the start of the crucial run-in is a significant boost for Chelsea as they look to secure Champions League qualification.

The winger has faced challenges in recent months, going without a goal in his last 10 appearances.

His struggles have been compounded by the absence of Nicolas Jackson in the team, with the two having developed a strong understanding earlier in the season.

When asked why Palmer didn’t join the England squad, Maresca explained: “The reason he didn’t play with national team is because the day before Arsenal he had a muscle problem.

“It wasn’t a big issue but it didn’t allow him to play against Arsenal or join the national team.

“We always say going with national team is the best for a player but overall some days off were good.”
