Mendy is expected to start as left back against Barcelona
Ferland Mendy reportedly expected to start for Madrid in Copa final

Ferland Mendy has reportedly recovered from his injury in March is expected to feature at left back for Real Madrid on Saturday night in the Copa del Rey final.
Ancelotti confirmed in midweek that both David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga had secured injury problems and were set to miss the final, leaving Fran Garcia as the sole option at left full back for Los Blancos.
Nonetheless, reports on Friday from Spanish journalist Jose Felix Diaz of MARCA indicates that Mendy will be handed a start on the big night as Real look to stun Barcelona to earn their 21st Copa del Rey title.
Barca have already entrenched themselves over Madrid twice this season, with the last victory coming in the Spanish Super Cup final in a humiliating 5-2 result.
As we previously reported, Ancelotti revealed that Real need to be beat Barcelona to deny them triumph this season in the remaining competitions and that would be the exact mentality on the day for the 2023 champions of the Copa.
Mendy’s return provides mores stability in defence for Real, yet the question will be whether he’s got the match fitness and sharpness to compete against Barca’s right flank of Lamine Yamal and Jules Kounde.
