Victor Osimhen for Napoli

Galatasaray remain steadfast in their pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen, following his loan stint with the club last season.

The Turkish champions, whose initial €60 million offer for the Nigerian striker was promptly rejected, have returned with an enhanced €75 million bid, aiming to meet Napoli’s valuation.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the enhanced €75 million offer aligns with Napoli’s release clause for the prolific forward, though it has yet to be activated.

The delay may stem from the proposed payment structure, reportedly spread over five-year installments, as disclosed by Fabrizio.

On his X(Twitter) post following Galatasaray’s improved bid, the Italian journalist indicated:

“Galatasaray have improved their official bid for Victor Osimhen.

“€75m reached as value of the release clause but not triggering it… as the offer is with payment terms in five years as installments.

“Decision up to Napoli.”

He is set to sign a five-year contract with Galatasaray, having reportedly notified Napoli of his decision to join the Turkish club this summer.

Osimhen enjoyed a stellar season at Galatasaray, netting 35 goals and contributing 7 assists in 39 appearances, while securing the Turkish Cup and earning the league’s top scorer award last campaign.

During late last month, Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal were reported to have submitted a new contract proposal worth a staggering €160 million over four years to convince the 26-year-old to switch to the Middle East club.

Having offered a lucrative €40 million net per season contract over an initial three-year term, with an option for a fourth year, as reported byCorriere dello Sport, the “feared maskman” consistently rejected moves to the Saudi Pro League.

Osimhen is likely to remain in the Turkish League with Galatasaray if Napoli agrees to finalize the transfer on the current terms proposed.
