GFA president Kurt Okraku elected to CAF Executive Committee

Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has been successfully elected to the Executive Committee (EXCO) of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
His four-year term will run from 2025 to 2029.
Okraku, who was elected uncontested, now joins the 24-member committee of the continent’s football governing body.
His election to the CAF Executive Committee is a testament to his exceptional leadership at the GFA, where he has been instrumental in revitalizing Ghanaian football since assuming office in 2019.
Notable for his efforts to enhance transparency, promote grassroots football, support women’s football, and focus on youth development, Okraku has earned recognition across the African football community.

Given Ghana’s rich footballing heritage, his appointment is seen as an opportunity to further the country’s interests and contribute to the advancement of football development across Africa.
Through his role, Okraku will ensure that Ghana has a stronger voice in shaping the future of football on the continent.

With this appointment, President Simeon-Okraku becomes the sixth Ghanaian to serve on the CAF Executive Committee, following in the footsteps of Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi.
