GFA president Kurt Okraku leads delegation to meet Speaker of Parliament

The visit was part of the GFA’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, led a delegation of Executive Council members and Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen on a courtesy visit to the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, and the parliamentary leadership.

The visit was part of the GFA’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders, following similar meetings with the Minister of Sports and Recreation, the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), and the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG).

Discussions focused on areas of mutual interest and a shared vision for the growth of football in Ghana.

The visit marks a significant step toward aligning the objectives of the GFA and Parliament to ensure football remains a source of national pride and unity

President Simeon-Okraku emphasized the importance of collaboration between the GFA and Parliament to ensure the continuous development of football as a unifying force in the country.

He expressed his gratitude to the Speaker, as well as the Majority and Minority Leaders, for their commitment to supporting football development.

During the meeting, the GFA President presented a comprehensive report on the current state of Ghanaian football, highlighting key challenges and proposed solutions.

The document was shared with the Speaker, the parliamentary leadership, and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports.

President Simeon-Okraku was accompanied by Executive Council members, including Vice-President Mark Addo, as well as the ten Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen.
