Ghana’s Alex Sarfo scores first league goal in Aris Limassol’s pulsating draw

Ghanaian midfielder Alex Opoku Sarfo scored his first-ever league goal for Aris Limassol in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Omonia Nicosia on Monday evening in the Cyprus top-flight League.
Sarfo 20, scored just before half-time, to give his side a lifeline at the Alphamega Stadium in Kolossi after Aris had fallen three goals behind.

Omonia Nicosia took an early lead with veteran forward Stevan Jovetic opening the scoring in the 11th minute.
Willy Semedo doubled the lead on the 26th minute before Jovetic added his second a minute later to give his side 3-0 lead.
However, Aris Limassol showed resilience and determination, with Sarfo giving his team a lifeline in the 43rd minute.
The young midfielder rose highest to head home a perfect cross from South African Mihlali Mayambela, reducing the deficit to 3-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Aris Limassol continued to push for more goals, and their efforts paid off. Russian striker Aleksandr Kokorin, who replaced Sarfo at half-time, pulled another goal back in the 54th minute.
The comeback was completed ten minutes later when Senegalese attacker Yannick Gomis scored the equalizer, securing a thrilling 3-3 draw for Aris Limassol.
Ghanaian defender Eric Boakye played the full 90 minutes for Aris Limassol, providing stability to the team’s defense.
Sarfo’s goal marks a significant milestone in his growing career, and he has now become a key player for Aris Limassol after joining the team from Kumasi-based Division Two side Benab FC.
With 32 appearances so far this season, Sarfo has established himself as a versatile and talented midfielder. Aris Limassol currently sit second in the Cyprus Top-flight League standings, trailing leaders Pafos by seven points with just one game left to play.
Sarfo’s journey to Aris Limassol began when he joined the Cyprus side from Kumasi-based Division Two side Benab FC.
However, he was sent on loan to Zakikou FC due to lack of playing time. After a season, he returned to Aris Limassol and has become an integral part of the team.
The 20-year-old midfielder’s goal against Omonia Nicosia is a evident to his hard work and dedication.
