Comoros secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Chad in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, March 26, 2025, at a neutral venue.
Both teams were desperate for a win, with Comoros seeking to boost their qualifying chances and Chad aiming to register their first points in the campaign.
Despite a total of 23 shots between the two teams, only one found the back of the net. Comoros forward Rafiki Said scored the decisive goal in the 24th minute, handing his country a vital win.
The result sees Comoros leapfrog to second place in Group I, while Chad remains rooted to the bottom of the table.
Ghana’s Black Stars still top the group, thanks to their back-to-back wins over Chad and Madagascar during the March international break.
The African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will resume in September 2025.
