Lions began the game strongly, controlling possession and pressing GoldStars deep into their half. Their efforts were rewarded in the 37th minute when Ali Fawzi scored the opening goal with a superb strike.
After the break, GoldStars improved, matching their opponents’ intensity and creativity. As time ran out, striker Sampson Eduku scored late to level the game and force penalties.
During the subsequent shootout, the Miners successfully converted four penalty kicks, while the Lions faltered twice, ultimately handing victory and the trophy to GoldStars.
