Flick opens on plans for Barca future
Hansi Flick opens up on plans for Barca future

With Barcelona flying high at the top of La Liga, preparing for a Copa del Rey final and on the verge of a Champions League semi-final, Hansi Flick has opened up on plans for his future at the club.
The German tactician since his arrival at Barca has elevated the team, revitalizing the Blaugrana’s style and spirit, but insists he’s focused on the present and not the future.
Speaking to the press ahead of Barca’s La Liga weekend clash at Leganes, Flick explained that although he enjoys coaching Barcelona, he is not so focused on the future but rather, making the most of the present.
“I’m really enjoying my time here. The staff, the players, everyone — they’re unbelievable. The atmosphere is fantastic, like a family. I love living in Barcelona, and I’m full of energy and ideas to keep improving this team,” Flick said.
“But I’m NOT the type of coach who signs a 3-year deal just to feel secure. I want to work for this club, the best club in the world — step by step, paso a paso. Right now, it’s one year… then we’ll see. If everyone’s happy, we move forward together. But I’m focused on the present — we’ve got a lot of work to do”, he added.
Should Barca beat Leganes away from home, Flick would be seven games away from a La Liga title in his debut season, one that would delight many Catalans across Spain and his fans around the world.
