Hansi Flick reveals Dani Olmo is ‘still not ready’ to return for Barca

Hansi Flick says Dani Olmo is not ready to feature for FC Barcelona yet after he suffered an injury to his foot after the March international break.

This term, Olmo has been one of Barca’s most lethal players in attack and has been involved in 13 goals despite many injuries since rejoining the Catalan side last season.

Speaking ahead of Barca’s away trip to Leganes, Flick explained that Olmo’s return is in the pipeline, yet ruled him out in the Blaugrana’s crucial trip away from home this weekend.

“We have the focus for this game and as leaders that is what we want to show. For Dani Olmo, he will not play tomorrow. he is also not with us. He will stay here in Barcelona. At the moment in his situation, it is much better that he stays here”, Flick said.

This year, Barca remain unbeaten in all competitions and will be aiming for those three points against Leganes, who beat them at the Olympic Stadium last November.

Flick could hand the likes of Ferran Torres and Pablo Gavi a start, after his team’s hectic yet impressive performance against Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
