Basake Holy Stars head coach Abdulai Gazale has been charged by the Ghana Football Association’s disciplinary committee following his post-match comments after his team’s loss to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.

An early goal by Samuel Tenedu was enough as Asante Kotoko beat Holy Stars 1-0 to reclaim the top spot in the Ghanaian top-flight competition.

After the game, an unhappy Abdulai Gazale, who was once in the technical team of the Porcupines, criticized some decisions made by officials.

“I do not usually talk about officials, but I will talk about it because I know what has gone into this match. What Kotoko did in our camp, they did not succeed but they have succeeded here. Look at the foul that they took against us,” Gazale said.

The GFA has since reacted, charging the coach with a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the Ghana Premier League regulations

Holy Stars are 14th on the Ghana Premier League table with 24 points.

Elsewhere in the league, Bibiani Gold Stars dropped to second place after conceding a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak.

Dreams FC continued their resurgence with a crucial 1-0 victory over Young Apostles FC.

Abdul Razak Salifu netted the decisive goal nine minutes from time, securing back-to-back wins for the Believers and pulling them further away from the relegation zone.

Medeama SC returned to winning ways with a commanding 2-0 victory over Aduana Stars.
