Jack Grealish left out of Man City squad for CWC

Jack Grealish endured a torrid 2024/25 season under Guardiola, which could lead to his omission from the CWC squad

Jack Grealish has been left out of Manchester City‘s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, which is set to commence on June 14.

The England international will miss out on the USA tournament after falling down the pecking order for Pep Guardiola for some time now.

City newcomers, Rayan Ait Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, and Rayan Cherki, however, were all named to face Wydad AC, Al Ain FC, and Juventus in Group G, with their opening game on June 18.

Grealish, who has two years left on his contract at City, experienced limited playing time last season, but is ready to fight for his place in what is supposed to be a new-look City for next season.

The latest snub increases his chances of seeking more minutes elsewhere, with a loan move not ruled out for the former Aston Villa talisman, considering his wages.

All four summer signings are set to be among the travelling party, with goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli, left-back Rayan Ait Nouri, and midfielders Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki all set to travel with the rest squad.

Grealish started just seven league games the 2024/25 season

City will be boosted by the inclusion of their former Ballon d’Or winner Rodri, who has been called up as he steps up his recovery from injury. However, Kevin De Bruyne is not named despite still being contracted to City until June 30.
