Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate is predicted to leave on a free transfer next summer, with Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain linked with the player.

Konate, whose contract with the Premier League outfit ends in 12 months, could exit the club next summer.

He will be confirmed as a free agent next summer, should he decide against renewing his contract with Arne Slot’s side, after which he will be free to sign elsewhere.

According to reports from Foot Mercato, the French international has received offers from several major European clubs on very lucrative terms as a free agent.

Konate signed a five-year deal with the Reds when he signed from RB Leipzig, but the club have failed to negotiate an extension. That has put Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona on alert.

The 26-year-old would be the second player to leave Liverpool on a free transfer in two summers, should he decide to exit Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold let his contract expire and signed for Real Madrid in June, a move that is becoming increasingly common in top-flight football lately.

Konate has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League since his £36 million move from the German side, Leipzig.

Last season, Konate featured in a total of 42 games for Liverpool. This includes 23 Premier League appearances, 7 Champions League appearances, and 4 EFL Cup appearances.

Liverpool does not need to replace Konate immediately, but reports suggest that the 20-time league record holders are already considering their succession plan, with a move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi being strongly considered this summer.
