Liverpool make contact with Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez

Kerkez has emerged as a top target for Liverpool this summer

Liverpool are in the market for a new left-back and have now made contact with Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez, according to Sky Sports News.

Despite having won the Premier League title, the Reds are not resting on their laurels.

The club have moved swiftly to address key positions, with Jeremie Fripong already brought in to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to join Real Madrid.

Bournemouth are already planning for life after Kerkez, having agreed a deal worth around £10.1m with Rennes for left-back Adrien Truffert. It is believed that the move is dependent on Liverpool signing Kerkez.

The Hungary international, who has three years left on his contract, is determined to move to Anfield.

The 21-year-old joined Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 and has since racked up 74 appearances, scored two goals, and provided eight assists across all competitions.

Last season, he featured in all 38 Premier League games as the Cherries finished 9th. In total, he made 41 appearances, netted twice, and registered six assists.

Kerkez, who has been valued at around £45m earlier, admitted he is humbled by transfer links to Liverpool.

“Of course, something always leaks into the news,” he told MLSZ TV.

“I don’t know how. At the same time, I think it’s normal that if you play well and the team does well, then you get into the news and end up on the front page, and everyone talks about you.

“I see this as fuel that drives me forward. All this doesn’t break me, but it doesn’t ‘boost’ my ego either, but it teaches me humility and motivates me.”
