Luka Modric set to become minority owner at English club

Luka Modric is set to become one of the minority owners of Championship club Swansea City, with a deal now agreed, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano
This move will not affect his playing career. As reported earlier, the 39-year-old remains committed to continuing his professional career at Real Madrid.
His current contract with Madrid expires this summer, and the La Liga giants are still considering whether to offer him a new deal.

The exact percentage of the club he is acquiring and the cost of the investment remain undisclosed at this stage.

Luka Modric is expected to join Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and Jason Cohen as part-owners of Swansea City.
The club underwent a change of ownership in November, following the sale of a 74.95 percent stake by Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan, marking the end of their eight-year tenure at the helm.
American businessman Coleman has promised a “new era” for the club.

He expressed his ambition to return Swansea, who have been outside the Premier League since their relegation in 2018, to the top flight.
Coleman emphasised the importance of Swansea being a “Championship club not doing Championship things” to enhance revenue and improve the club’s prospects.
He explained: “The new partners that I have inside of Swansea City are as fully committed as I am to helping every single day to take this club where it deserves to be.
“We hopefully have the ability to reach out across the aisle to our supporters and to rebuild their trust and to work together on this fresh start here.”
