United are believed to have agreed personal terms with the 22-year-old striker

Manchester United have reportedly agreed terms with Ipswich Town for the transfer of Liam Delap.

The Red Devils are aiming to conclude their business early as they look to bounce back from one of the worst seasons in the club’s history.

According to ESPN, United have reached an agreement with Ipswich for their star striker, who appears set to leave following the club’s relegation to the Championship.

Ruben Amorim’s side have also agreed the framework of a deal that would see them activate Delap’s £30million release clause.

It is believed that United have reached an agreement with the 22-year-old striker over personal terms.

However, the transfer is not yet finalised, as Liam Delap is reportedly still weighing his options and considering whether to join Man United or explore other opportunities.

He’s widely tipped to be among the first major moves once the transfer window opens on June 1.

The Englishman has impressed in his debut Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 37 appearances for Ipswich.

Delap joined Ipswich from Manchester City last summer after spending five years at the Etihad. He has been a standout performer in a challenging season at Portman Road.

The young forward is expected to play a key role for Lee Carsley’s England U21 side at this summer’s European Championship in Slovakia, where the defending champions will face the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Germany in Group B.

Notably, Delap was not part of the England squad that won the tournament in 2023 but is now seen as a central figure in their title defence.
