Ruben Amorim is shying away from being compared to Sir Alex Ferguson’s ‘flexible’ start to life at Man Utd
Man United boss Ruben Amorim dismisses Sir Alex Ferguson comparison saying ‘It is not possible these days”

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim has dismissed rumors comparing him to the club’s most successful manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, saying, “It is not possible these days” to avoid success at the club for a long time like Sir Alex experienced.
Ruben Amorim was quick to play down Sir Alex’s era, as the under-pressure manager makes a strong “pressure” admission, saying “it is not possible these days” to stay away from success at Manchester United for so long.

The Sir Alex Ferguson story
Sir Alex took over as Utd boss in 1986, failing to win a trophy until 1990 at Old Trafford, but Amorim claims that situation is not possible to replicate these days.
The United manager insists the dynamics are quite different and understands he will not get that long to turn the club around now.

Looking ahead
It is almost a certainty for Amorim’s Utd to suffer their ever bottom-half Premier League finish this come end of the season.
The Red Devils sit seven points behind 10th-place Bournemouth with just eight matches to play.
To avoid being their worst-ever campaign in terms of points gathered, they must accumulate at least 22 points from those matches to “clear their bad record”.
In response to lifting the club’s name out of the mud, Amorim said:
“I think the focus must be how to improve our team in every aspect.
“The Premier League is so difficult, I have a lot of people saying Sir Alex Ferguson took three or four years to win something, it is not possible these days because you have to give three interviews before every game so the pressure is so much different. We are Man Utd.
“There are a lot of good things. No matter the pressure, we have to be there with the big ones.”
