Man United captain Bruno Fernandes linked with potential Real Madrid move

Manchester United’s season has been a terrible one so far under new manager Ruben Amorim, but their one shining star has been Bruno Fernandes.

Play the cards however you want, but there’s only one truth: Fernandes has been brilliant for United this season.

Indeed, no matter how bad it could be, there’s always one player that catches the eye, and they’re bound to be linked with a move away to a bigger team.

Fernandes has been linked with Real Madrid over the week, but according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on the Stretford Post YouTube channel, there isn’t much to these links.

“Bruno and Real Madrid, what do you think? Would Man Utd entertain an offer for Bruno?” Jacobs was asked.

“No, there’s nothing in that as far as I’m aware. That’s been downplayed by both Manchester United and Real Madrid sources,’ Jacobs said.

“We know that Real Madrid are going to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold, they may add in a centre-back.

“If they were to strengthen in the centre they’d go for more a number six than a number eight. I can’t see them strengthening with the profile of someone like Bruno.”

However, Fernandes has made it very clear in the past that he remains fully committed to the club and does not intend to leave – as he wrote in The Players’ Tribune.

“I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream,” Fernandes wrote.

“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league.

“We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.

“I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here. If you doubt that for a moment, then you just have to look at my Spotify Wrapped, and that will prove it to you.”
