Man United, Newcastle and Tottenham put off by Antoine Semenyo’s £70m price tag

Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham have cooled their interest in Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who is valued upwards of £70m this summer, according to Inews.

Semenyo enjoyed a strong campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists in the league.

In total, he racked up 42 appearances, netted 13 times, and registered seven assists for the Cherries across all competitions.

The Ghana international’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with several top-flight clubs monitoring his situation.

Despite the growing interest, Semenyo only signed a new long-term contract with Bournemouth last season, keeping him at the club until 2029.

The report claims that “Tottenham are understood to have shown the most interest as they look to strengthen the attacking options at Thomas Frank’s disposal.

“But Bournemouth remain steadfast in their valuation and there is an increasing belief that he will stay at the club, who are set to be busy in the transfer market in July.”

Spurs have been in contact with Bournemouth after making an initial enquiry last week but the Cherries are relaxed about the situation.

Antoine Semenyo is a self-confessed Arsenal fan, and in an interview with The Athletic earlier last season, he said: “I am an Arsenal fan.

“I don’t see any conflict with my job. It’s great to play against Arsenal, a team I’ve supported all my life. I want to play for top clubs, and in order to do that, I need to prove myself.”

Bournemouth are in no rush to sell to Semenyo, having already sold Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez to Real Madrid and Liverpool, respectively.
