Man United reportedly reach ‘agreement in principle’ with Victor Osimhen

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement in principle with Victor Osimhen over a potential summer transfer.
The Nigerian striker was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer, with both United and Chelsea expressing interest.
However, a deal failed to materialise due to Napoli’s steep asking price and a breakdown in the player’s relationship with the Italian club. Instead, Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan for the 2024–25 season.

Despite missing out on him last year, United have not given up on signing the former Lille forward.
According to Tuttosport, the Red Devils are now ready to trigger his €75million (£64m) release clause this summer.
The report also suggests United could include Rasmus Højlund in the deal, potentially sending the Danish striker to Napoli following a difficult season at Old Trafford.

Højlund has struggled for form, managing just eight goals in 45 appearances across all competitions.

Victor Osimhen, by contrast, has been in sensational form for Galatasaray, netting 30 goals in 35 matches.
His prolific scoring has led the Turkish giants to push for a permanent deal, but United appear keen to swoop in.
As United prepare for this weekend’s match against Bournemouth, they sit 14th in the Premier League standings.
Manager Ruben Amorim is said to view a move for Osimhen as crucial to revitalising their disappointing campaign.
Manchester United are also monitoring Ipswich star Liam Delap, who will be available for £30million this summer.
However, Amorim prefers a move for Victor Osimhen due to his experience and proven goalscoring record.
