Manchester City agree deal with Lyon to sign Rayan Cherki

Manchester City are on the verge of signing Rayan Cherki after agreeing a deal with Lyon, according to The Athletic.

The online news portal claims that “an agreement between the clubs on a fee in the region of €40million (£33.7m) and between City and the player on a contract until 2030 have now been reached.”
The 21-year-old, who recently earned his first call-up to the France national team, has publicly confirmed his intention to leave his boyhood club this summer.
After an impressive season in which he scored 12 goals and provided 20 assists, including eight in the UEFA Europa League, Cherki has attracted significant interest across Europe, particularly from Premier League clubs.

He came off the bench to score in France’s 5-4 defeat to Spain on Thursday in the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.
Cherki also featured for France as they defeated Germany in the third-place play-off on Saturday.

The Citizens have also reached an agreement with Wolves for the transfer of left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Reijnders and Ait-Nouri will both sign long-term deals after completing their medicals.
