Manchester United reveal Mason Mount transfer stance

Mount, who joined United for £60m, has faced immense pressure since his move to Old Trafford

Manchester United are unlikely to entertain offers for Mason Mount because he is an ideal fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactical approach, according to reports.

Mount, who joined United for £60m, has faced immense pressure since his move to Old Trafford, largely due to persistent injury troubles.

The 24-year-old has scored just once in 33 appearances, managing only 414 minutes of play across all competitions this season.

Despite his struggles, Mount remains one of the club’s highest earners, leading to speculation that United may consider parting ways with him in the summer.

However, David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that a summer departure is unlikely.

While there are doubts about whether any club would be willing to meet United’s asking price for Mount, the Red Devils appear more focused on helping the former Chelsea star regain his fitness and form.

Head coach Ruben Amorim has expressed keen interest in working with Mount, citing his previous success in a similar 3-4-2-1 system at Stamford Bridge under Thomas Tuchel.

“If you look at the history of Mason Mount, he played in this system many times, especially in Chelsea, he played left-hand, right-hand [side],” Amorim said recently.

“So I think it’s a very good position for him.”

Mount, who is contracted with United until the summer of 2028, made his long-awaited return from a hamstring injury before the international break.

He made his seventh appearance under manager Amorim in the recent 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
