Rashford’s loan spell at Aston Villa has been a resounding success, with the striker scoring important goals and showcasing his skills on the pitch.
His performance in the Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain was particularly impressive, as he started as Villa’s central striker and played a key role in the team’s win.
Rashford’s ability to adapt to different positions and play styles has been a significant factor in his success at Villa.
Rooney, speaking as a pundit for Amazon Prime’s Champions League coverage, believes Rashford’s desire to return to Manchester United is genuine.
“Marcus Rashford wants to play for Manchester United, 100%. He is a Manchester lad, Man Utd fan, and over the last couple of years it has been difficult”, Rooney said.
Rooney hopes Rashford can leave a lasting legacy at Manchester United but acknowledges the challenges the striker faces.
Rashford’s relationship with current United manager Ruben Amorim has deteriorated, and it’s unclear whether he’ll get another chance to prove himself at Old Trafford.
Nevertheless, Rooney believes Rashford’s determination and talent make him a strong contender to succeed at United.
Rashford’s impressive form at Aston Villa has drawn praise from former football stars, including Daniel Sturridge.
“The narrative before he came was he was not the same player. He has proven everyone wrong”, Sturridge said.
Sturridge’s comments highlight Rashford’s ability to adapt and thrive in different environments and his determination to prove himself as a top-class striker.
