“Messi is the best ever, but I don’t compare myself with anyone”-Yamal says

Teenage sensation Lamine Yamal has revealed that he pays no attention to the talk of being compared to legends like Lionel Messi, although he believes the Argentine is the best ever.

Yamal has been in impeccable form for Barcelona across all competitions this season, contributing to 34 goals as the Blaugrana continue their fight for all possible titles under German manager Hansi Flick.

Ahead of Barcelona’s crunch UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter Milan, Lamine Yamal revealed he is fully focused on improving game by game rather than the talk of being compared to the legendary Lionel Messi or any player alike.

“I do not compare myself with anyone, same as Messi. I admire Leo, he’s the best in history, but I’m focused on improving, comparing myself with other players doesn’t make any sense”, he said in the pre-match presser.

Lamine Yamal has certainly proven to the world that he’s got enough quality to rise through the ranks of Barcelona as an all time great, and he will be one of the players to keep close tabs on in Barca’s upcoming clash against Inter Milan.

Should Barcelona go all the way in Europe, it would be Yamal’s second European trophy in his career, after he lighted up the 2024 Euros in Germany last summer.
