Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League’s Player of the Season for the 2024/25 campaign.

The Liverpool forward wins the award for the second time in his career, having first earned the honour in 2017/18 following his sensational debut season with the club.

Salah has delivered one of the most outstanding individual performances in Premier League history, playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s title triumph this season, which was secured with four games to spare in April.

Ahead of Sunday’s final fixture at home against Crystal Palace, Salah has registered an incredible 28 goals and 18 assists in the league for Arne Slot’s side.

These impressive numbers put the Egyptian on track to finish as both the division’s top goalscorer and leading creator.

Salah’s stellar season saw him edge out strong competition for the Player of the Season award, including his Liverpool teammates Ryan Gravenberch and Virgil van Dijk, as well as standout performers Morgan Gibbs-White, Alexander Isak, Bryan Mbeumo, Declan Rice, and Chris Wood.

Salah’s tally of 46 goal involvements has set a new record for the most combined goals and assists in a 38-match Premier League season.

He is just one behind the overall Premier League record of 47, jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, both of whom achieved their totals in 42-match campaigns.

At 32 years old, Salah continues to shatter records. This season, he climbed to third place on Liverpool’s all-time top scorers list with 244 goals.

He began the season ranked 11th in Premier League history but has since risen to fifth, having scored 185 goals in the competition, trailing only Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213), Wayne Rooney (208), and Cole (187).

Additionally, Salah has become the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League history, surpassing Sergio Agüero’s 184 goals.

He also now ranks fourth in the all-time combined goals and assists chart.
