MTN FA Cup preliminary round fixtures announced

The 2025/26 MTN FA Cup is officially underway after the preliminary round draw was conducted on Thursday at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra.
The draw marks the beginning of another exciting campaign in Ghana’s oldest and most prestigious knockout competition.
A total of ninety-two (92) clubs from the Division One and Division Two Leagues have learned their opponents as the competition officially kicks off later this month.

Last season’s finalists Golden Kick SC will begin their campaign with a tricky away tie against Attram de Visser Academy, in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the preliminary round.
In Group A, Tamale City will travel to face Bolga All Stars, while Wa Power SC host Northern City FC in a regional derby. Elsewhere, Victory Club Warriors square off against Steadfast FC, a fixture expected to attract significant local attention.
Group B also features several intriguing contests, including Berekum Arsenal at home to Bectero Sasana and Thoughts FC taking on Debibi United, while PAC Academy make the trip to KAC Soccer Academy.
In the Western Zone, Sekondi XI Wise are set to host Skyy FC, while Sekondi Rospak welcome Elmina Sharks to Tarkwa in what could prove to be one of the most competitive ties of the round.
The Southern Sector also offers compelling fixtures, with Inter Allies hosting Right to Dream Academy, Okwahu United travelling to face Shalom FC, and WAFA (West Africa Football Academy) beginning their campaign at home against Nadom FC.
According to the GFA, the draw was conducted based on zonal and geographical proximity to ensure competitive balance and minimize travel burdens for participating teams.
The preliminary round matches are scheduled to take place over the weekend of October 24–27, 2025. Winners from this stage will advance to the Round of 64, where they will be joined by all 18 Premier League clubs marking the beginning of the tournament’s most unpredictable and thrilling phase.
