Myles Lewis-Skelly signs new Arsenal contract

England defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract with his boyhood club.
The 18-year-old’s contract was due to expire in 2026 and had been in negotiations with the Gunners over recent months.
Lewis-Skelly had a breakthrough season at Emirates Stadium last term, racking up 39 appearances across all competitions.

Reflecting after signing his new contract, Myles said: “I’m so proud and happy. I know those words are simple, but I think they sum up how I feel signing for this club. I’m a fan and it’s like a dream come true.
“I’ve embodied the values of Hale End and come through. I’ve still got a lot of years ahead of me, so if I can keep staying humble and being a good person, that’s the most important thing to me.”
The Englishman made his debut against Manchester City in September last year and was mainly used at left-back by Mikel Arteta, despite being a midfielder who emerged through Arsenal’s academy.

He was handed his first England call-up by Thomas Tuchel and was on target in the 2-0 win against Albania at Wembley, becoming the youngest player in history to score on their full Three Lions debut.
💬 "I still have more expectations for myself. I want to achieve more. I want to strive higher."

Lewis-Skelly’s impressive displays during the 2024/25 season have seen him being shortlisted for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, alongside Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Ethan Nwaneri.
Lewis-Skelly added: “I know I’ve taken a lot of experience from the games about the positive moments, the mistakes that I’ve made. I’m definitely more ready now for the next season. I just want to keep learning and keep improving.
“I want a legacy. I want to win everything there is to win in the game. I want to win trophies on the biggest stages whilst being a person that’s always learning and stays grounded, which is so important.”
