Police Ladies crowned Southern Zone Champions

In a thrilling conclusion to the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League Southern Zone, Police Ladies emerged as the new champions after a hard-fought 2-0 win over FC Epiphany Warriors on the final match day at the Adjirigano Astro Turf in Accra.

This impressive victory cemented their top spot, two points clear of contenders Hasaacas Ladies.

Heading into the final match day, Police Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies were joint top of the table with 36 points each, separated only by goal difference. However, Hasaacas Ladies’ 1-1 draw against Jonina Ladies meant that Police Ladies’ win was enough to secure the top spot.

Police Ladies finished the campaign with an impressive 11 wins, six draws, and one defeat, accruing 39 points. This feat marks a significant milestone for the team as they cruise into the grand final of the league for the first time.

The Southern Zone champions will now face Northern Zonal Champions, Ampem Darkoa, in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League playoff finale on a later date in May. The stage is set for an exciting showdown between these two talented teams.
