PSG boss Luis Enrique backs Ousmane Dembele to win Ballon d’Or

Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique believes that Ousmane Dembele deserves to win the Ballon d’Or after the Champions League triumph.
Dembele has been in fine form throughout the 2024/25 season, helping the Parisians complete a historic treble in sensational fashion on Saturday following a 5-0 win over Inter Milan.
The France international provided two assists as PSG cruised to a comfortable victory and won their maiden Champions League title at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
Dembele racked up 49 appearances, scored 33 goals, and provided 15 assists for the Ligue 1 giants across all competitions.

The former Barcelona and Dortmund forward has been in the conversation for this year’s Ballon d’Or after a remarkable season.
There are several contenders for the award, including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Barca duo Raphinha and Lamine Yamal.
Salah played an instrumental role in helping the Reds clinch their record-equalling 20th English top-flight title, while Raphinha and Yamal also propelled the Blaugrana to win three titles.

PSG boss Luis Enrique, speaking after the Champions League final, claims that Dembele is the favourite to bag the prestigious award.

The Spaniard told reporters: “I’d give the Ballon d’Or to Mr Ousmane Dembele. The way he defended tonight… only that can be worth the Ballon d’Or.
“This is how you lead a team. Goals, titles, leadership, defending, how he was pressing. Ousmane is my Ballon d’Or. No doubts at all.”
The Frenchman is expected to join the France national team soon for their upcoming Nations League semi-final against Spain on June 5.
