FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has backed his team’s marksman Raphinha as one of the primary candidates to win this year’s Ballon d’Or after the Brazilian’s consistent run of form this season.
In the 2024/25 season in all competitions, Raphinha has been involved in 43 goals, producing many clutch moments for the Blaugrana in crucial games this year.
The question of whether he stands as the frontrunner is one that is continuously discussed in the public domain as Barcelona continue to compete for all available titles within their reach.
Flick has weighed in on the conversation, stating that the former Leeds United man is certainly one the names to consider for the 2025 Golden Ball.
He made these remarks while he spoke to the media ahead of Barca’s crucial last 16 second-leg clash against Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.
“Raphinha Ballon D’Or? He is a candidate, yes. Raphinha has this hunger and a way of attacking that you can see. It’s great to watch him play. I’m happy that he’s here and at this level.”
