Real Madrid ready to offer €35m for Benfica left-back

Real Madrid to sign Alvaro Carreras for 35 million Euros

Real Madrid are making efforts to revamp their squad in the defensive areas and are reportedly ready to offer €35m for Alvaro Carreras for the SL Benfica left-back, after a difficult campaign.

The La Liga giants are determined to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer, following the signing of Bournemouth star Dean Huijsen, while Liverpool left-back Trent Alexander-Arnold will join the club as a free agent.

However, the Los Blancos are looking to reinforce their defence further by bringing in a new left-back, with Carreras emerging as the top target.

Madrid have been involved in talks regarding Carreras for at least a month now, having already reached personal terms with the player.

Despite reaching an agreement with the player, Madrid have yet to reach an agreement with Benfica, who aren’t willing to let the player go for cheap.

According to Portuguese news outlet A Bola, Real Madrid are willing to offer a fee of around €30-35 million for the services of Carreras.

Although Benfica is ready to negotiate a move for the player, reports indicate that the Portuguese club will only be willing to trade if Madrid meets the player’s €50 million release clause.

It has been reported in the past that Benfica are willing to lower the terms of the deal for the 22-year-old if Real Madrid are ready to offer players in return.

The Spanish giants do have an advantage in the deal as Carreras himself is ready to move to Spain.

Benfica, therefore, might be forced to accept a cut-price deal to sell their star defensive asset this summer.
