Real Madrid Brazilian star Rodrygo has reportedly ignited a transfer battle amongst Premier League clubs after expressing the desire to leave over perceived favouritism of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe.

This has sparked speculative news that Madrid will be forced to part ways with Rodrygo in the summer, with the forward unhappy about his limited role since the arrival of Bellingham and Mbappe.

Rodrygo is one of the best wingers in the world and has been crucial for Los Blancos in their incredible success since joining from Santos in 2019, winning the Champions League on two occasions.

News has it that the Brazilian reportedly refused to feature for Carlo Ancelotti in the 4-3 Clasico defeat to bitter rivals Barcelona over the weekend amid his unhappiness at the club and now wants to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Rodrygo has been disgruntled by the “media explosion” around Bellingham and Mbappe, earning all the praise this season, and now feels “displaced”.

The reports reveal that the 24-year-old is “confined to his home” and “angry” about his situation because he hoped to become one of Madrid’s leading men this season alongside Mbappe and Vinicius Jr – which has not been the case.

It further indicates, even the imminent arrival of new boss Xabi Alonso may not be enough to fix the forward’s situation now – with Ancelotti set to leave for Brazil in the summer.

However, Alonso’s arrival and tactical set-up may determine if Rodrygo stays or leaves, but adds that the Spaniard is likely to focus on Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vinicius as his main attacking trio.

As a result, the club have not ruled out selling Rodrygo in the summer to give Alonso a more steady environment to work in.

Rodrygo has netted 68 times in 267 appearances, but has only six goals and five assists from 22 starts to his name in the current campaign.

A move to Liverpool could be on the cards after the Reds previously failed with a move before Rodrygo joined Madrid.
