Record-breaking Erling Haaland scores 40th goal in 41 appearances for Norway

Erling Haaland has set a new record with his 40th goal in just 41 games for Norway, surpassing Jorgen Juve’s 90-year-old record.
The Manchester City striker inscribed his name in the history books for Norway, scoring in their 4-2 win over Israel in the World Championship qualifier on Tuesday night.
Haaland’s 83rd-minute strike has made him the top scorer in Europe’s top five leagues. The 24-year-old has bagged 38 goals and five assists in 46 games in all competitions for the season.

That makes him the player with the most strikes for club and country in the top five European leagues.
The former Dortmund star has proven beyond doubt his knack for scoring goals – a specialty he has exhibited consistently over the years before his move from FC Red Bull Salzburg in 2020.

His prolific goal-scoring abilities have made him a record-breaker in the Premier League as well. After successfully converting a penalty in Manchester City’s 2-2 draw with Brighton before the international break.
This achievement makes him the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goal contributions. The previous record was held by Alan Shearer, who achieved the feat in 100 matches back in 1995.

Haaland has been a constant threat in front of the goal since breaking through in Europe – he is known for his speed, strength, and positioning inside the box.
The Norwegian has scored 21 goals in 28 Premier League matches, leading Manchester City’s charge so far this season.
