Thomas Frank only lasted eight months as a Tottenham head coach
Tottenham Hotspur sack manager Thomas Frank

Tottenham Hotspur have sacked their manager Thomas Frank following their 2-1 defeat at home to Newcastle United in the Premier League encounter on Tuesday night.
The English manager joined the north London side eight months ago, at the start of the season, replacing Ange Postecoglou, but has struggled to take Spurs to the level they expect since arriving from Brentford in June.
Thomas Frank has failed to make an impression after taking over from Ange Postecoglou, who was sacked despite ending the club’s long trophy drought by winning the Europa League.

The 52-year-old manager’s position had come under immense scrutiny after a desperately poor run of results, with the club languishing in 16th in the Premier League standings.
Frank’s side had gone seven matches without picking up a league win entering Tuesday’s encounter, and the defeat to Newcastle – Spurs’ 11th of the top-flight campaign – proved to be Frank’s final game in the dugout. His contract was due to expire in the summer of 2028.

A Club statement on Wednesday read: “The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.
“Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.
“However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
“Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward.
“We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.”
The decision to sack Thomas Frank had become increasingly inevitable, driven by mounting fan outrage over the team’s disappointing performances under a manager who arrived with sky-high expectations last summer.
Though Tottenham’s struggles under Frank’s management have been evident, he still managed to guide the club to a crucial qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Spurs are expected to replace Frank with an interim manager until the end of the season, with their next Premier League fixture coming against league leaders and bitter north London rivals Arsenal over the weekend.
Names such as former manager Mauricio Pochettino, club legend Robbie Keane, and Roberto De Zerbi — who parted ways with Marseille on Wednesday — have emerged as potential permanent replacements for Thomas Frank in the summer.
